So what is the Rubix? Some strange kind of cube? A geometric anomaly.?Actually, the Roland Rubix is a 4 inputs 4 outputs audio interface which allows multiple synths and effects to be recorded direct into Ableton, synced with VST synths, and each track edited separately afterwards. It meant that all of these recordings were made completely without an external mixer – for the first time in over 20 years of recording. Of course, the finished mixes still carry the Plankton Stamp of being as deranged and undefinable as usual...
